My Friends at the Military Salute Project have been dilligently putting together a list of the fallen Minnesotans from the Global War On Terror. Here I have combined a couple projects of theirs into a Roll Call listing of those who we have lost.

Minnesotans, or those with Minnesota connections, who served at some time from September 11, 2001 through December 31, 2014 in the United States Army, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force or the United States Coast Guard, including activated Reservists or members of the Army or Air National Guard, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn and/or Operation Noble Eagle and who earned one or more of the following decorations for their honorable service ...

National Defense Service Medal
Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal
Global War On Terrorism Service Medal
Afghanistan Campaign Medal
Iraq Campaign Medal


Also included are Minnesotans who died while working as security personnel for companies contracted by the United States Department of Defense and a passenger on United Airlines Flight 93.

Each of the names listed in the Roll Call includes one or more of four United States Department of Defense operations ...

Operation Enduring Freedom indicates that the deceased served on active duty in Afghanistan at some time from September 11, 2001 through December 31, 2014.

Operation Iraqi Freedom indicates that the deceased served on active duty in Iraq at some time from March 20, 2003 through August 31, 2010.

Operation New Dawn indicates that the deceased served on active duty in Iraq or Kuwait at some time from September 1, 2010 through December 15, 2011.

Operation Noble Eagle indicates that the deceased served on active duty elsewhere at some time from September 11, 2001 through December 31, 2014.
